Tickets go on sale Friday, June 3 at State Theater Box Office and Ticketmaster; 500 seats being held for affected Northside residents

BROTHER ALI, THE NEW STANDARDS, PRUDENCE JOHNSON, PARIS AND JAMECIA BENNETT, THE PETERSON FAMILY, TOKI WRIGHT, DEAN MAGRAW, TC JAMMERS AND OTHERS ADDED TO NORTHSIDE: A TWIN CITIES COMMUNITY BENEFIT JUNE 12 AT THE HENNEPIN THEATRE TRUST’S STATE THEATER

WHAT:
The line-up of Twin Cities recording artists, emcees and behind-the-scenes help continues to build for the “Northside: A Twin Cities Community Benefit.” Northside hopes to raise $100,000 for those whose homes and livelihoods have been destroyed by the recent May 22 tornado. 500 tickets will be held for Northside residents affected by the storm. Distribution logistics are being worked out.

Many volunteers have stepped forward and all talent is being donated for the concert, including event coordination, media work and other tasks.

TICKETS/TIME:
Northside: A Twin Cities Community Benefit will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Hennepin Theatre Trust’s State Theatre Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 3 and range in price from $26.50 to $101.50 depending on seating preference. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $251.50.
All prices include applicable facility fees. Additional service charges may apply. Tickets may be purchased in person at the State Theatre Box Office (805 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, 55402), online at HennepinTheatreTrust.org, or by calling 1.800.982.2787 or visiting a Ticketmaster Center.
WHO:
New artists announced today to the bill include: Brother Ali, one of the leading hip-hop artists from the Rhymesayers Entertainment group; The New Standards, a jazzy pop trio that remakes classic rock and jazz tunes; American Idol finalist Paris Bennett and former Sounds of Blackness singer Jamecia Bennett; hip-hop and spoken word artist Toki Wright; jazz singers, guitarist Dean Magraw; Prudence Johnson and Ginger Commodore; the legendary Peterson Family with Jeanne Arland Peterson, Patty, Paul and Jason; the renowned TC Jammers; emcee T. Mychael Rambo; rocker Brian (GB) Leighton; gospel group Darnell Davis and The Remnant; singer Thomasina Petrus; Joyful Noize, gospel youth choir; and WCCO TV s Angela Davis (emcee).
